Lina's not really new. She's available later in the game, just not in the Crystal Desert.. but now she is.

Maybe not for you. However I've been very frustrated by minion AI and lack of XP in PvP. After making many posts on these subjects I'm very pleased to see they been fixed. It almost as if someones lsitening. Thankyou so much Anet!!!

combine that right arm of the gladiator armor with knights mail and you would look freakin' awesome

also, if a dye drops, the color is next to its name

Also, many, if not most, gladiators wore wrappings around their midsections to minimize the embarrassment of having their entrails spill out. It was worn for theatrics -- to show off skill, to make fights shorter, etc. -- and wasn't good campaign armor. Anyway, this set looks better than the pre-ascension stuff.
I never quite got that either. But hey, it's their crazy game universe, so if they want to make a small strip of leather across the upper chest be just as effective at deflecting a stab to the belly as a curved plate of metal, then more power to them. I guess the idea that the gladiator armor should provide the least physical protection (just by a small margin at least) for all that extra energy will never come to fruition.

You can always argue whether the aesthetics of something is better or worse, but at least it's different than pre-ascension, and more choices is a good thing.

Good points. And even though the gladiator armor is strange, it's got its own appeal.
